Erasmus Internship Opportunity 

Duration: 3 months from end of August 2015 until End of November / December 2015, 5 days per week. 
Salary: Travel and Lunch expenses covered

Qualifications: Current or recently completed BA; arts disciplines preferred. 
General description: The position requires an outgoing, well-presented and organized individual who is willing to gain hands-on experience in a leading contemporary art gallery. The applicant should expect to carry out diverse tasks to support the different areas of operation of the gallery, which will provide him or her with the opportunity to work and liaise with visitors, artists, collectors, journalists and key art institutions. 
Responsibilities: • Supporting the directors with sales, auction results and communications. 
• Supporting the gallery manager with various administrative tasks for the smooth running of the gallery on a day-to-day basis. 
• Managing press files. 
• Assisting with planning and execution of art fairs such as Frieze, FIAC and Art Basel Miami. 
• Supporting the front-of-house manager to ensure visitors are greeted and informed appropriately about our current exhibitions and artists. 
• Assisting the technical director in the production of exhibitions when required. 
• Assist at private views, talks and other gallery events as required. Essential Qualities: 
• Able to demonstrate initiative. 
• Enthusiasm for all aspects of gallery work. 
• A proven interest in contemporary art and understanding of the gallery’s artists. 
• Discretion, particularly in dealing with high net worth clients. 
• Cheerful, flexible and able to remain calm under pressure. 
•Able to deal efficiently with the general public. Desirable: 
• Languages: German 
• Events experience 
Hours: Normal office hours are 09.45am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. Working on approximately 2 Saturdays per month will be required with the following Monday off in lieu, although the intern will be expected, within reason, to work hours outside these periods as are necessary
